Norway will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest: Stockholm, with the song "Glemme (Vajálduhttit)" by Elina Johnsen and Jonas Martinsen. The Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) organized the national final Norsksong 1 in order to select the Norwegian entrant for the contest in Stockholm.
Norsksong 1 was the first-ever edition of Norsksong, the national final to select Norway's representative in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Norsksong 1 consisted of a one-night final. In the final, ten songs competed. After every song was performed, a voting window was opened. After the close of the voting window, the top four songs based on a combination of public voting and votes from an international jury moved on to the superfinal. In the superfinal, the four songs were performed again and a shorter voting window was opened. After its close, the winner was determined by solely public voting. The show was hosted by Lise Dahl and Oskar Hemsen.
NRK opened the submissions window for interested artists and composers from August to September. The 10 competing artists and their song titles were revealed in January, along with a short 20-second snippet of their song. Two weeks before the final, the songs were revealed in full.
