Kusipäät is a Finnish electronic band from Helsinki. The band consists of lead singer Nyla Dark, lead guitarist Elvero, bassist Mollie Krush, keyboardist Mies, and drummer Antonin Dark. They competed in SuomenLaulu 1 with the song "Doo Doo Doo". Their name translates to "dickheads" in Finnish. The band is well known for incorporating LGBT, queer, and genderfuck themes into their appearances, songs, and performances.

HistoryEdit

The band was formed in 2008 by Nyla Dark, his older brother Antonin Dark, and their friends Elvero, Mollie Krush, and Mies. The group began performing their music in the basement of Nyla and Antonin's house, and shortly began sharing their original songs on Myspace, which gained them recognition.

In 2011, they were signed by Finnish independent label Rikos Records. They released their debut studio album, Fucking Is Good for the Soul, in 2013. They later went on a nationwide tour, performing in cities such as Helsinki, Espoo, Jyväskylä, and others. During this tour, they began gaining a reputation for having extremely loud, provocative, raunchy, and energetic stage performances, which has followed them throughout their whole career.

Their second studio album, Oh My God, was released in 2015. It was their first album to peak on the official Finnish albums chart, reaching number-56. In 2016, they recorded the song "Doo Doo Doo", and submitted it to SuomenLaulu 1, Finland's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. They ended up qualifying as finalists, and placed ninth in the final, placing ninth in the jury vote and sixth with the public vote.
