Life and careerEdit
Gällström was born on 23 November 1977 in Östersund. Her parents, Tomas and Magdalena, both worked as teachers. She grew up with one older brother, and together they began writing songs and performing music.
Gällström began dancing when she was six years old. She graduated from compulsory schooling in 1994, and then moved to Stockholm to attend the Royal Swedish Ballet school. She graduated in 1997, and remained in Stockholm to pursue a career in dance.
1997–2005: Dance careerEdit
After graduating, Gällström began dancing at the Royal Swedish Ballet school as a career. She performed there for eight years, before retiring after she tore her ACL. Following the end of her dance career, Gällström decided to pursue a career as a folk singer.
2005–present: Music careerEdit
After beginning to pursue a career as a folk singer, Gällström was signed to Sony Music Sweden in 2008. She released her debut album, Vad du gör mot mig. She went on to release two other albums, in 2011 and 2015.
Gällström married Latvian ballet dancer Edmunds Lībietis in 2012. They have three children together; Lyle, born in 2013, and fraternal twins Isabella and Ariana, born in 2014. The family resides in Stockholm. Her and her husband also own and operate a dance studio in Stockholm, where they teach children ages three to eighteen.
