Ivar Ola "Ivo" Ivarsson III (born 30 October 1952) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. He competed in Svensksong 1 with the song "Blues är bra".
Life and careerEdit
Ivarsson was born on 30 October 1952 in the Tallkrogen district of Stockholm. His father, Ivar Ivarsson Jr., was a blues singer, while his mother, Ulrika, worked as a secretary. He grew up with one older sister. He was called "Ivo" since infancy to differentiate him from his father.
Ivarsson graduated from compulsory schooling in 1969. He then began attending a music school in Stockholm, graduating in 1972. Following his graduation, he began working as a professional musician.
Ivarsson was signed to Warner Music Sweden in 1974. He established himself as a rock singer, with his songs containing elements of blues and soul, while still maintaining a schlager influence to keep mainstream appeal. He went on to release twenty-two albums within his career.
In 2016, Ivarsson was confirmed to be taking part in Svensksong 1, with the song "Blues är bra". He performed the song in the third semi-final, and was eliminated, placing seventh.
Ivarsson married Swedish singer Patty Helmqvist in 1984. They have three children together; Diana, born in 1987, Lena, born in 1990, and Erik, born in 1992. The family resides in Danderyd Municipality, Stockholm County.
