France will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest: Stockholm, with the song "Le renard" by Élodie. The French broadcaster France Télévisions internally selected both the artist and song chosen for the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.

Before Eurovision[]

Internal selection[]

In September, France Télévisions announced that they were accepting submissions from the public for their Eurovision Song Contest entry. However, they reaffirmed that if none of the public submissions were deemed appropriate for the contest, they reserved the right to reject all of them. Songwriters were allowed to apply individually or with an artist, while artists were allowed to apply with or without a song. The submissions window was closed in December, and the broadcaster announced they had received around 600 songs and that five songs had been shortlisted. An international jury would deliberate and choose their representative. All five songs were performed solely in French.

In January, it was announced that Élodie would represent France with the song "Le renard".

Promotion[]

It has been confirmed that Élodie will perform her song as promotion at several Eurovision events and other countries' national finals. She will attend Eurovision In Concert, Eurovision PreParty Tallinn, Eurovision PreParty Bucharest, and Eurovision PreParty London, and will also perform at several undecided national finals.

At Eurovision[]

As a member of the "Big 5", France will automatically qualify to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest: Stockholm, held in Friends Arena.
