Daniel Błaszczyk (born 5 December 1980) is a Polish singer and songwriter. He first came to prominence in 2014, after placing third on the fourth season of The Voice Poland. He also competed in Krajowy Konkurs 1 with the song "Sparrow".
Life and career[]
Early life[]
Błaszczyk was born on 5 December 1980 in Lublin. His father was a neurologist, while his mother was a housewife. He grew up in a wealthy, traditional family with two older sisters and a younger brother.
Błaszczyk graduated from compulsory schooling in 1997. After his graduation, he considered attending a music school, but ultimately attended a liceum. He passed his matura exam in 2000, and began attending Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, where he studied law. After completing his education, he began practicing law in Lublin.
2014–present: The Voice Poland and Krajowy Konkurs 1[]
In 2014, at the encouragement of his wife, Błaszczyk tried out for season four of The Voice Poland. He made it onto the show and ultimately ended up placing third. The following year, he was signed to Sony Music Polska. After his music career began taking off, he left his job as a lawyer and moved with his family to Warsaw.
In 2017, he was confirmed to be taking part in Krajowy Konkurs 1, with the song "Sparrow". He ended up placing seventh, earning the third-lowest amount of points from the jury and the lowest amount of points from the public.
Personal life[]
Błaszczyk married gynecologist Anna Sokołowska during summer 2008. They have two children together; Oliwia, born in 2010, and Natalia, born in 2012. The family are all practicing Roman Catholics, and since 2014, have resided in Warsaw.
