Ali bin Mahmud Salem (born 2 October 1992), better known by his stage name Allyboba, is a Swedish rapper and songwriter. He competed in Svensksong 1 with the song "100,000 jetplan".

Life and career[]

Early life[]

Allyboba was born on 2 October 1992 in Finspång Municipality. His parents, Mahmud and Salma immigrated to Sweden from Iraq in 1990. He grew up in a lower-income household with an older brother and younger sister.

Allyboba completed compulsory schooling in 2009, and went on to attend a gymnasium, where he particularly enjoyed writing. He graduated from gymnasium in 2012, and moved to Uppsala to attend Uppsala University. Throughout gymnasium, he rapped as a hobby. In his first year, he dropped out to pursue a career as a rapper.

2012–present: Music career[]

In 2012, Allyboba was signed to Warner Music Sweden. His debut single, "Fly", was released in 2013. He has released various singles throughout the mid-2010s.

In 2016, Allyboba was confirmed to be taking part in Svensksong 1, with the song "100,000 jetplan". He performed the song in the second semi-final, but placed sixth and was eliminated.

Personal life[]

Allyboba is a Muslim. He resides in Stockholm, and can speak fluent Arabic, Swedish, and English.
