Life and careerEdit
Ingel was born on 2 July 1970 in the Kungsholmen borough of Stockholm. His father was an accountant, while his mother was a housewife. His paternal grandfather was of German-Jewish descent. Ingel grew up with a younger sister.
Ingel graduated from compulsory schooling in 1986. He went on to attend a music school in Stockholm, where he studied music production. He graduated from music school in 1989, and subsequently began a career in music.
After graduating from music school, Ingel performed as an instrumentalist in a number of Stockholm-based rock bands. He was often adamant about not being the lead singer, as he disliked his singing voice and due to his shyness didn't like being the center of attention. He signed a songwriting deal with Sony Music Sweden in 1997, and soon began writing and producing a number of songs for Swedish artists signed to the label.
In 2016, Ingel was confirmed to be taking part in Svensksong 1, with the song "Hang On" along with Jessica Gällström. They performed the song in the first semi-final, and were eliminated, placing fifth.
Ingel married Swedish model Mina Björn in 2004. They had two children together; Oscar, born in 2006, and Desmond, born in 2008. Björn filed for divorce in 2012, citing irreconcilable differences. In 2016, he married architect Olivia Solen. They have one child together; Elsa, born in 2017. The family resides in Stockholm.
